Eastern White Oak:
This is among those kinds of oak trees which is very large but compare to other kinds this is not the tallest tree. These kinds of oak trees are grayish in color and range up-to 60 to 150 feet. Leaves of this tree are slightly in sections, lower part of a leave is bit whitish in color. The wood of this tree is best for making furniture and other decorative purposes.
Chestnut Oak:
This is one of the huge kinds of oak trees; it easily ranges up-to 100 feet. Leaves of this tree are rounded in shape and the trunk is very dark in color. Chestnut tree is very beautiful in nature when you see its trunk it will give a view of some ancient tree.
Bur Oak:
This tree is among those kinds of oak trees which are not too tall; it ranges from 80 feet to 150 feet. Its trunk diameter is almost 2 to 3 feet. Leaves of this tree is little glossy and divided into sections. Trunk of bur oak is greyish in color and has narrow trenches.
Northern Red Oak:
This is among those kinds of oak trees which are very tall in nature and have beautiful red orange leaves. Leaves are slightly lobed and have multiple sections. This tree ranges from 80 feet to 150 feet with a diameter of 4 feet. This tree looks very beautiful especially in spring. Its colorful leaves and stem make this look even more attractive.
Pin Oak:
This is also among those tall kinds of oak trees ranges from 70 to 100 feet. Its diameter reaches up-to 3 feet. It has braches pointing downwards and leaves are quite asymmetrical. Its buds are hairless and small in size. The wood of such kinds of oak trees are best use in fire wood and for splitting.
Southern Red Oak:
This is among those kinds of oak trees which are not too tall; it is medium in length ranging up-to 100 feet with a trunk diameter of 2 to 3 feet. Leaves of such tree are divided into segments and shape is slightly lobed. This kind of oak tree grows in sandy soil and also known as Spanish oak.
Live Oak:
These kinds of oak trees are evergreen in nature. It is small size tree unlike other kinds of oak trees; it ranges up-to 30 to 40 feet. Its leaves are bright green in color and have a glossy surface. It is widely available on streets and shady parks. Live oak tree leaves are usually eaten by many animals due to its greenish nature.
