Kinds Of Car Seats

Car seats are what you must have as you prepare for parenting. There are many kinds of car seats available for kids. They are very important because they make it easy to handle and keep babies safe while traveling. Here some kinds of car seats and guidelines to help you as you choose the one that fits your personal needs.

1. T-SHIELD CONVERTIBLE:

These seats are not encouraged to be used for babies of very small children because the shield may be near the neck. It has a rubber that has been made to look like a T. The manufacturing companies stopped producing this kind of car seat.

2. INFANT SEAT:

They come in several kinds. They are made for rear-facing only and they must be installed with LACH anchors. There are two options to choose from; three-point harness and a five point harness. They have no much difference except that the five-point harness will do a better job with infants.

3. SHIELD BOOSTER:

They are made for forward facing only. They have the ability to position properly the lap/shoulder belt. These seats are good for kids who have grown big for convertible seats. Because of safety measures and changes in car designs, Shield Boosters have ceased from being manufactured and used. The grown up children can just seat in the normal seats.

4. FIVE_POINT CONVERTIBLE:

This kind of car seat is considered the better, by experts, than the overhead shield and the t-shield in terms of protection.

5. OVERHEAD SHIELD CONVERTIBLE:

They have a harness strap for the shoulders, a crotch strap and a large plastic shield. They are not good enough for a new born baby because the shield will be near the head and the baby can hit it in case of a crush. They are also not good for children with eye glasses.

6. HIGHER WEIGHT FORWARD-FACING RESTRAINT:

This kind of car seat is recommended for two kinds of situations; when the child is immature to seat properly and also bigger children who can ride with a lab belt.

7. COMBINATION SEAT:

They are made for forward facing only. They work best for children who are older than three because they are not made to allow sleeping. They are good for maturing children who have grown big for convertible seats. The slots for belts are a little higher than in convertibles.

8. BELT POSITIONING HIGH BACK BOOSTER:

These seats are forward facing only. They help to position the belt properly over the kid. Very few children fit the normal seat belt, most get to fit when they are taller than 58 inches. When using this kind of car seat, you must use with a lap shoulder belt.

9. BELT POSITIONING BACKLESS BOOSTER:

This car seat does not have a harness. They are good for properly positioning the seat belt. They are good for cars with high seat backs because these boosters do not have a head back support. They have to be used with lap/shoulder belt. They are popular in the market.
